    Wine provided by
    Smith Madrone Vineyards
Smith-Madrone is one of Napa Valley’s original artisanal wineries, founded on top of Spring Mountain (St. Helena) in 1971 by Stuart Smith and Charles Smith. All of the winery’s wines are made from the estate vineyards surrounding the winery, planted 40 years ago by the two brothers. The vineyards are mostly dry-farmed on steep mountainsides surrounding the winery, at elevations between 1,300 and 1,900 feet, in rocky, red volcanic soil, on slopes angling up to 34%. Stuart and Charles are long-time fans of The Cameo, often zooming in to see a new movie fresh from the crush pad! On the occasion of launching The Cameo’s centennial year, the brothers will be bringing their newest releases to share—-2009 Chardonnay and 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon.

  6. Support Cameo Community Arts

October is Pledge Mont - Become a Friend of the Cameo and make a Patron Pledge today!

    Dear Cameo Friends,
The Cameo Cinema is entering its 99th year.  It may be the oldest single screen theater in the United States, and thanks to Proprietor, Cathy Buck, it is the only single screen theater that has digital picture, Dolby sound and 3D capabilities!

On a monthly basis the Cameo has “something for everyone,” including first run movies, Art Films and a Family Film Series.  In addition, Cathy opens the theater for specific events such as the Royal Wedding, World Series and World Cup…ADMISSION FREE!  During the holidays patrons can vote on a movie, which is then shown on New Year’s Day…ADMISSION FREE!  During winter and spring, ballet and opera have been shown and is currently looking to make a come-back.

The Cameo offers a Film Class on Tuesday afternoons where 50 people enjoy a movie followed by a discussion of the film.  “Film and Fork,” another innovative idea, is held on Monday evenings once a month.  It consists of watching a first run movie with dinner and discussion following, at Cindy’s Backstreet Restaurant.

Unfortunately, the theater operates at a deficit and we, the Cameo Ambassadors, are asking for your help.

In order to assure that the community is able to keep the marvelous venue Cathy has created, the Cameo Ambassadors, are asking you to contribute as “Friends of the Cameo,” during our “Patron Pledge Drive” this October.  You’ll receive an “exclusive” Cameo T-Shirt and Cameo “Bucks” as a thank you for your support.

There are several ways to donate:  a monthly contribution, a one-time donation, or a donation box which will be in the lobby of the theater (for any amount you wish to contribute).  With your help the City of St. Helena and the Napa Valley will be able to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Cameo Cinema in 2013.
    See you at the movies!
